Another Eden Begins Gets September 17 Launch Date

Another Eden Begins, a turn-based RPG set across different time periods, is coming to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam on September 17. Publisher WFS and developer Studio Prisma made the announcement alongside a breakdown of what players can expect from the game.

The project brings together some familiar names in the RPG world. Masato Kato, known for his work on Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, is directing the game. Music is handled by Yasunori Mitsuda, the composer behind Xenogears and Chrono Cross, along with folk-inspired orchestration from Procyon Studio, where Mitsuda also contributes as a composer.

Players follow Aldo, a young man on a mission to rescue his sister Feinne from an unnamed evil force. Along the way, the story crosses through the past, present, and future, with over 18 companions to meet and fight alongside. The game includes ally quests to build relationships with these characters, as well as special kinship quests that unlock as bonds grow stronger.

Combat is turn-based with a focus on building a party around roles and synergies. There is also a mechanic called Another Force, which lets players unleash a string of powerful attacks during battle.

Another Eden Begins connects to the existing mobile JRPG Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, which has been available since 2017. The new game features full English voice acting in its main story, with the returning voice cast from that title. The game also includes enhanced visuals compared to its predecessor.
