That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Memories is a cool mix of RPG and base-building—our guide will show you the ropes for both.

Before we get into any of these, free-to-play (F2P) players are strongly recommended to reroll. While [Dragon Majin] Milim Nava and [Chancellor of Tempest] Rimuru Tempest are some of the best characters to reroll for, if you have the time, do consider rerolling for a 5★ Protection Character. Check out our reroll guide to learn how to do so.

      Combat

Combat in Slime ISEKAI Memories is somewhat similar to Fate/Grand Order‘s command card system. You mainly have 3 different cards, or Souls as the game calls them. Each turn, you start with 6 Souls and you can use any amount of them, as long as they are of the same colour or it’s the same character’s Soul.

      • Soul of Divine Protection (blue)

Fills the Protection Gauge. When it’s full, you can activate a Protection skill for a supportive effect on your team.

      • Soul of Skills (green)

Increases skill points, which caps at 100 by default. Skill points are used to pay the cost for your Battle Characters’ skills.

      • Soul of Secrets (orange)

Fills the Secret Skill Gauge of the character who uses it. Once the Secret Skill Gauge of the character is full, you’ll gain a Soul of Combos for the character, letting you use his or her Secret Skill.

Soul of Combos are multicoloured and can be used with any Soul in the same turn. Using more than 3 Souls in the same turn results in the last Soul of Divine Protection/Skills/Secrets dealing extra damage. A special animation for the attack, which is as follows denotes the extra damage:

      • Fierce Combo (110% damage) – 4 Souls in 1 turn
      • Savage Combo (150% damage) – 5 Souls in 1 turn
      • Monstrous Combo (200% damage) – 6 Souls in 1 turn.

Another factor that plays a major part in the damage calculation is elements. The image above shows the relationship between each element, with -> denoting which element is stronger. For example, space (the turquoise shield) is stronger than wind (the green tornado). As a result, a space element character will deal more damage and take less damage when fighting against a wind element enemy.

Light and dark behave a bit differently. Your light/dark characters will always deal bonus damage to the opposing element, but will not take increased damage from enemies of said element.

      Slime Isekai Memories Guide

      Combat Tips

Here are some useful tips to make the most out of your characters during combat.

      • While it may be difficult for F2P players to construct a 5★ mono or duo element team for the Protection Character bonus, Protection characters still offer the entire team bonus stats based on his/her/its stats.
      • All enemies take extra 20% damage to either physical or magical attacks. You can find out what attacks are effective on them by tapping on “Info” and then tapping the enemy’s icon before proceeding to battle.
      • Keep your stronger damage dealers in the Rearguard of your team. That way, when the battle begins, you can swap them with whoever has more Souls to deal more damage on the first turn. This works even better with characters with elemental/damage type advantage.

      • If you selected Soul of Combos to be used that turn, but the whole wave of enemies dies before you use the Secret Skill, you’ll still be able to use the Soul next turn. You can use this trick to get Fierce/Savage/Monstrous Combo bonus damage on that turn without wasting a Secret Skill.
      • If an enemy dies and there’s still 2 left in the same wave, the AI will randomly choose the target for your remaining attacks. To avoid this, you can manually select the target of your attack by tapping on the enemy before choosing the Soul.
      • The option to “Equip All” characters automatically is pretty bad and doesn’t take into account bonus effects of equipment. For maximum benefit, you’ll need to manually equip your characters.

      Base Building

The other part of this guide, base building is a huge gameplay mechanic in Slime ISEKAI Memories. Just like in the anime, the bigger Jura Tempest Federation gets, the stronger Rimuru’s forces become.

Base building is in Slime ISEKAI Memories is pretty much identical to any other base building mobile game out there. It takes time to construct a building, which can be sped up by spending Magicrystals. F2P players are strongly recommended NOT to speed up construction—they should only be used for pulling characters.

By default, you can construct/level up three buildings at a time. You can spend Magicrystals to unlock more slots, but again, F2P players should not waste Magicrystals for that. As with most base building games, eventually, the biggest hindrance to your progress isn’t how long it takes to build, but the strength of your team.

      Slime Isekai Memories Guide

In addition, you can Request Aid from Sworn Friends (other players whom you’ve befriended) to shorten the time required for building. Each Sworn Friend cuts the building time by 10 minutes.

There isn’t really a strict build order to follow. Generally, I recommend choosing what to build based on your own schedule. For example, if you are going to sleep for 8 hours, then pick a building that takes 8 hours or more to build.

Regardless, here is a loose priority order of what buildings to build.

      • Central Office (to have more options of what to build)
      • Laboratory (consistent source of Healing Potions aka stamina)
      • Rimuru’s Hut (to have more Sworn Friends = less construction time from Request Aid)

These 3 buildings are the most important buildings in my opinion. Every other building depends on your situation. For example, you won’t need a higher level Forge if you can’t evolve a piece of equipment to its next form.

Houses are necessary to increase population size, but also remember to focus on food production facilities as you get Magicrystals and stronger characters each time their bond levels up. Elemental Magic Devices/Symbol of Protection and Magistone Digsites are more for long-term progression, increasing the stats of your characters.

Assigning characters to buildings increases the Production Power Effect, which shortens production time. The character’s output stat determines how much Production Power Effect they provide. Each character also has 2 buildings which have increased output when assigned to them.

      Base Building Tips

      • In the early game, your biggest priority is definitely Houses. You need higher population count to unlock more buildings and game modes such as Conquest.
      • Optimizing your characters when assigning to buildings is NOT the best option. Sometimes, assigning another character to a building won’t shorten the production time at all, as the character’s output is not high enough to reach the next Production Power Effect bonus.
      • Gold production is typically a lot more important than Magicule production, as you’ll be using a lot more Gold than Magicules. The game gives tonnes of Magicules from completing Challenges.

      Slime Isekai Memories Guide

      Gacha

The gacha system in Slime ISEKAI Memories can be accessed via the Recruit button. While the game is pretty generous with a 4% drop rate for 5★ characters, note that it’s actually 1% for 5★ Protection characters, and 3% for 5★ Battle characters.

Due to how many 5★ characters they are, the odds of you getting the specific character you want is down to less than 1%. There is a pity system called Bazaar Points, with 200 pulls (6,000 Magicrystals) letting you pick one 5★ Battle Character of your choice, while 300 pulls (9,000 Magicrystals) lets you pick one 5★ Protection character. Note that the Bazaar Points/pity does not carry over to other banners, so be extra mindful of which banner you plan to pull from, especially if you are F2P. Bazaar Points that expire after the banner will be converted to Seeds of Growth (currency for one of the in-game shops), so always target to get either 200 or 300 Bazaar Points for a banner and don’t forget to use them to get the character of your choice.

When you pull from a banner with Magicrystals, always do a 10 pull as you are guaranteed one 4★ character. Making a 10 pull via tickets do not have a 4★ character guarantee, so you can make single pulls without any worry.

      Other Tips

Here is a list of tips that don’t fall into any of the previous sections in this Slime ISEKAI Memories guide.

      • All characters have a specific weapon expertise that grants them 20% higher ATK gain than usual. Do not get confused between Swords, Greatswords and Katanas!
      • Check your Sworn Friends list regularly. Consider removing inactive friends to make room for active ones. Not only do Sworn Friends help to shorten your construction time, helping them with their Aid Requests grants you Proof of Sworn Friendship, a currency for the Friendship Bazaar where you can buy things like Recruit Tickets and Blacksmith’s Hammers. Thus, you’ll want active friends.
      • Some stages (especially Training) have extra Challenges like clearing the stage with 5 Pierce/Critical attacks or clearing the stage with a specific character. Be sure to scroll down the Challenge list to see what you can take on.

      • Focus on maxing out your main team and Protection character’s Ability Release first, as they provide the biggest stat bonuses, followed by your support team.
      • In Predator stages, you won’t need to worry about your characters dying like in other stages—focus on dealing as much damage as quick as possible.
      • For early game progression, focus on clearing the Beginner Bingo as they’re goals you should be aiming for. In addition to the [Pink Ogre of Heavenly Light] Shuna awakening materials, they’re a fantastic early game source of Magicrystals.

That is all for our Slime ISEKAI Memories beginner guide. Whether you’re F2P or not, we hope you found it useful.
