Roughly one month before the new Street Fighter movie premieres in theatres, Legendary dropped an interactive trailer on YouTube. The trailer features an arcade room with a fully interactive Street Fighter machine, where fans can move a joystick and press punch and kick buttons in sync with the trailer’s scenes.

For a free feature, the mini-game is pretty well-made. The combination of buttons fans would have to make for the quick-time events feels responsive, as they’re timed perfectly with every punch, kick, combo, or anything in between. There’s even a section in the trailer where fans can input a combination leading to Ryu’s signature move, Hadouken.

As for the trailer itself, it centres around Ryu, Ken Masters and Chun-Li. Ryu is depicted as someone who’s walked away from fighting but is forced to return after learning from Chun-Li that Ken is in trouble.
The new trailer also gives fans a glimpse into the movie’s version of the World Warrior Tournament, which seems to be hiding a deeper conspiracy. It offers a more serious tone compared to previous trailers, but the exaggerated characters and fight sequences are still teased
Speaking of characters, fan-favorites such as Blanka, Guile, Balrog, Dhalsim, Zangief, E. Honda, Cammy, Vega and Akuma were also seen in action in the new trailer.
Street Fighter hits cinemas on October 17. It’s directed by Kitao Sakurai, who is set to bring the chaotic and sometimes campy vibe of Capcom’s fighting game to the big screen. With the most recent trailer, it seems like the director is firing on all cylinders to make the film as over-the-top as possible.
