Two years after the release of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, this high production action RPG from Cygames has successfully become a big hit, which is now driving them to develop an expansion titled Endless Ragnarok. Fans’ desire to see the game supported again has finally been granted, and what it offers is actually way more substantial than just a regular post launch update.
Whether you are a veteran player or a newcomer, there are preparations you absolutely need to keep in mind so your progress can go much smoother. And for that, in this article we have put together a complete guide on how to unlock key new content in Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, as well as how to build your character or team to a higher power level before facing the most challenging quest tier in the game so far.
Requirements to Unlock Endless Ragnarok
The main chunk of content in this expansion requires you to be further into the game before it opens up, specifically for the new story, the end game quest tier Fatebreaker with three new difficulty levels (Chaos, Chaos+, and Chaos++), new gameplay mechanics with Summons, and new ways to strengthen characters with Master Traits system. The main requirement you need to clear here is the quest The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage where you have to face the boss Proto Bahamut.

This is easily one of the most popular quests in the game because this is where players farm to get Terminus weapons. There is a high chance that veteran players have already cleared this quest, but newcomers will need to go through quite a long journey, especially since access only opens up after gradually clearing quite a few quests on Proud difficulty.
These limitations feel necessary, because the new content offered by Endless Ragnarok is incredibly challenging and requires a higher PWR (the overall character power indicator). This means you need to max out your character in every single area, starting from Sigil loadouts, character power Masteries and permanent buffs from weapon Masteries, weapon levels as well as various modifications and the awakening process, and everything else.

Keep in mind that this is still limited to just one character, because if you choose to play solo, there are still three other characters in your team that need attention so they can back you up properly during battle and not get knocked out easily. The process of building a strong team will definitely involve a lot of grinding, but luckily Endless Ragnarok brings a lot of new overhauls to make it much more efficient and fun, especially with the addition of The Conflux mode which we will talk about next.
The Conflux: The New Best Farming Method
Designed as the newest solo mode with roguelite elements, The Conflux ends up being incredibly helpful for farming all kinds of materials thanks to the reward system they put in place.
This mode splits gameplay sessions into different phases where you can choose between fighting or playing a mini game, featuring checkpoints in several spots and a special phase against bosses, including at the very final stop. After clearing one Cycle, you will get a choice of rewards available in the form of a bundle with a detailed explanation of what is inside.

For example, if you want to get materials to upgrade Terminus weapons, you can just pick the Terminus’s Awakening reward bundle, which even shows you an indicator of which characters’ weapons can be upgraded. Another example includes high rarity materials like Tears of the Apocalypse, which used to be strictly limited to dropping from the boss Lucilius in the quests The Final Vision and Zero, but this time those materials can be obtained in a single Astral Rarities reward bundle.
So besides making it way easier for players to get a healthy amount of material bundles from a single source rather than having to farm across multiple different quests, The Conflux even gives you an option to get specific materials from quests that might still feel too difficult for many players to clear normally. On top of that, The Conflux also has a kind of Masteries system called Resonance, where you can spend RP (similar to MSP) to unlock permanent buffs and power ups. The more you play this mode, the faster each Cycle can be finished.

Since it is such a useful mode, especially for new players to quickly catch up for Endless Ragnarok, access will be available right after you reach Chapter 6 before heading into the quest to Dahli Island. Later on, there is a new side quest you need to clear in Seedhollow to unlock Cycle 1. From there, The Conflux is split into several Cycles where the difficulty keeps going up, but the rewards you get will obviously become much more valuable too.
To unlock Cycle 2, you first need to finish the quest on Hard difficulty, Cycle 3 opens up after clearing the quest on Maniac difficulty, and later on there are also several higher Cycles that can be opened after progressing through Chaos difficulty and above. Keep in mind that each Cycle gives out different reward bundles, so new players who are still on Cycle 1 can only get standard materials to forge weapons or perform the Uncap process up to two times.

Because of this, there are still specific adjustments in place so players cannot suddenly become overpowered right away, not to mention that each Cycle also has a difficulty level with a recommended PWR indicator that jumps up to twice as high once you reach Cycle 4.
How to Recruit All New Playable Characters
This expansion adds six new playable characters to the mix: Beatrix, Eustace, Maglielle, Gallanza, Fraux, and Fediel. The good news is you can recruit them directly without needing to go through a longer process like the one for Sandalphon for example. Even so, there are a few specific conditions you need to look out for.

Starting with Beatrix and Eustace, they will be instantly available for you to recruit at the Knicknack Shack just by spending a single Crewmate Card. Tickets to recruit these playable characters can be earned from plenty of sources, so you do not need to worry about having trouble getting them, let alone needing to deal with gacha for anyone who might not be familiar with how this works in the game.

Moving on to Maglielle and Gallanza, you can get a separate unique Crewmate Card to recruit them after triggering a new story cutscene that only shows up once your progress has reached Chapter Ø. This cutscene will only trigger when you are in Folca, so if you are still hanging around Seedhollow, it is a good idea to move to the other hub area immediately.

Then for Fraux and Fediel, you can actually recruit them early just like Beatrix and Eustace, but each of them requires you to spend 2x Crewmate Card instead of just one like most other characters. Alternatively, you can recruit both of them completely for free with their own unique Crewmate Cards, which are given out as rewards from their story quests in Endless Ragnarok.

So if you are sensitive to story spoilers and want to recruit Fraux or Fediel naturally through normal progression, we recommend holding off, especially since you can save those four Crewmate Cards for other locked options if you have not recruited all the characters in the main game yet. But if you are impatient, you can absolutely recruit them early, since it can be useful to give yourself more time to level them up and get used to their playstyles.
Even More Easier Ways to Strengthen Characters
The Conflux is not the only new addition that makes strengthening characters feel much easier, as the game also brings a bunch of other adjustments that players might not even notice at first. As a small example, you can now recruit Sandalphon just by using a regular Crewmate Card. This is a massive change compared to before, where you had to get a unique Crewmate Card by trading in 3x Canaan Whitebloom, a rare material that only dropped from the Lucilius quests.

As for an even more significant overhaul, players who used to struggle with getting Terminus weapons can now forge them directly at the Blacksmith as long as they have the required materials. So instead of having to endlessly grind the Proto Bahamut quest hoping for a Terminus weapon drop that might not even show up or match the specific character you want, now you know exactly when you can get the weapon you are looking for, and it does not take long at all.

There are two types of materials from different sources needed to forge a Terminus weapon, which are Ultimate Memory and Mythic Artifact. Specifically for the Mythic Artifact, you can get it through The Conflux reward bundle, and the amounts are directly tailored to the special playable characters in the game: Tweyen, Seofon, Sandalphon, Fraux, and Fediel. Because of this, you only need to run a single Cycle to get all the materials needed to forge Terminus weapons for the five of them.

Meanwhile for the Ultimate Memory which is used for all the other playable characters in the game, is tied to the quest against the boss Bahamut Versa in The Final Report, and Proto Bahamut in The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage, which happens to be the key quest to unlock the Endless Ragnarok expansion just like we mentioned earlier.
You need 10x Ultimate Memories to forge a single standard Terminus weapon, so you will probably need to run the Proto Bahamut quest about at least two times to get enough materials with some bonus leftovers. The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage still drops Terminus weapon randomly, so if you are lucky you can unlock every Terminus weapon even faster.

Additional Tip: No Need to Be Overprepared
While it may sound counterproductive compared to what we just discussed, there might be some players who take their preparations too far, only to realize they do not really need to put in so much of that extra work. The big example we want to bring up here is the case of getting your hands on Supplementary Damage V+.
This is one of, if not the most sought-after Sigils among players due to how significant it is for adding layers to your damage output. But that said, this is also a very rare Sigil that you can only get by appraising Curios from Zathba in Seedhollow, which basically works like doing a gacha pull.

You can get at least one Curio at the end of high difficulty quests, but since the drop rate for Supp V+ is very low, it is advisable to at least accumulate a huge amount of Curios first before attempting to appraise them, which can take a significant amount of time. Luckily, you won’t need to stress about getting this Sigil anymore, since you can easily get it from the new Fatebreaker tier quests.
Here are a few early quests where you can get Supp V+, whether as a first-clear reward or a random drop:
- The General Assembly (Chaos) – Random Drop
- Shadows of the Past: Dread (Chaos+) – Random Drop
- Revenge of the Ooze (Chaos+) – First-Clear
- Bring Light to the World (Chaos+) – First-Clear
- Procession of Dragons (Chaos+) – Random Drop

There are obviously more quests that can give you this Sigil, even for a quest that does not list it among the drop rewards you can get, such as Shadows of the Past: Dread, so you may also get very lucky on some occasions even when you are not trying to get the Sigil.
But while Supp V+ is very good, there are other good Sigils that you can also consider and can even use as a replacement, such as Berserker Echo+ which should be easier to get, or Fatebreaker+ which gives a buff to attack, defense, and damage cap, but only when participating in the new quests within the Fatebreaker tier.
The main point here is that seeking rare Sigils is not as intimidating as it used to be. Even if you choose to settle with a regular Supplementary Damage V, you can easily get it as a guaranteed reward from The Conflux. So aside from newcomers, the dev already made sure that even the most hardcore veterans can have their needs met pretty early on in this expansion.
With all the explanations laid out in this article, you can now confidently prepare yourself to welcome the epic new adventure in Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok without worrying about excessive grinding, harsher difficulty spikes, or anything like that. All types of players can get the most out of the experience, while still getting to enjoy the challenging and addictive gameplay thrill that this game is known for, especially from all the new end-game content.
Not only that, Endless Ragnarok also adds a Master Traits system and Summon mechanics that are just as crucial for helping you face quests in the Fatebreaker tier. But outside of pure utility, there is a separate kind of fun for players who love the process of strengthening characters, or those who just love controlling Summons in combat and experimenting with so many exciting options in the game.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Endless Ragnarok will be released on July 9 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, which this time finally brings full crossplay support.
