Capcom has officially announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection during the recent Nintendo Direct July 2025, confirming the game will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam in 2026.
The latest entry in the Monster Hunter Stories RPG series brings players into a world facing destruction. Two nations, Azuria and Vermeil, are struggling against a growing crystal threat that’s taking over their lands. Hope appears when a mysterious egg is discovered, hatching a Rathalos that was believed to be extinct. But this hope quickly turns to worry when a second monster emerges from the same egg.
These twin Rathalos carry the same mark as the legendary twin Skyscale Rathalos, creatures that were seen as signs of disaster during a civil war 200 years ago. With the environment getting worse and monsters dying out, the threat of war between the two nations grows stronger.
Players will control the heir to Azuria, a character with special powers who becomes the leader of the Rangers and the kingdom’s only Rathalos Rider. Their job is to protect monsters and study egg quartz, but a major event forces them to investigate the strange problems threatening their world. This leads them to travel to forbidden lands beyond the northern Meridian.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection continues the series’ tradition of combining monster collecting with RPG elements, where players form bonds with creatures called Monsties rather than hunting them. The game is set to launch sometime in 2026 across all announced platforms.
