It’s time to pack your bags for a tropical adventure as Genshin Impact Version 5.8, titled “Sunspray Summer Resort”, officially launches on July 30, 2025.
HoYoverse is turning up the heat this summer with a brand-new permanent area, tons of mini-games, vibrant seasonal events, and the introduction of a fresh 5-star character, Ineffa from the mysterious region of Nod-Krai.
Welcome to Easybreeze Holiday Resort
One of the highlights of this update is the Easybreeze Holiday Resort, a vivid and colorful island map located off the west coast of Natlan. Although it’s in trial phase, this new permanent region is already bursting with activities and secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Popular characters like Bennett, Chasca, Mualani, and even Venti make their return, this time for a tropical getaway with hidden mysteries. Players will also meet Asha, the cheerful resort mascot, who grants new traversal abilities like gliding over water and hovering through the skies.
Add a splash of creativity with Asha’s paint-based powers to solve puzzles and uncover the secrets beneath the paradise, including a fearsome creature, Bakunawa, lurking in the depths of Mare Jivari.
Events, Mini-Games, and Rewards
Expect plenty of summer-themed activities, from striking targets in “Strikers Through the Storm”, jamming out in music parties, to teaming up with Kau Kau and Akamai in “Travels Are Fuller With Friends”.
By participating in these events, players can earn Sunspray Spirit, which unlocks juicy rewards like:
- The event-exclusive 4-star Claymore: Flame-Forged Insight
- A brand-new outfit for Bennett: Adventures in Blazing Hue
Nod-Krai’s Prelude: “The Journey Home”
Version 5.8 also marks the beginning of a new storyline arc—“Song of the Welkin Moon”—with the chapter “The Journey Home” featuring Ineffa. Players will uncover her mysterious origins tied to the ancient dragon civilization as they journey across Natlan.
Meet Ineffa – The First Nod-Krai Character
Ineffa, a powerful household robot designed by the Whiz-Kid Mechanic Aino, makes her debut as a 5-star Electro polearm user. She introduces a new elemental reaction called Lunar-Charged, which upgrades traditional Electro-Charged reactions into something much more powerful.
Her combat toolkit includes:
- Summoning Thunderclouds to deal continuous AoE Electro damage
- Deploying Birgitta, her smart assistance unit, for additional strikes
- A shield-generating skill set that combines offense and defense
She’ll be available in the first phase of event wishes alongside Citlali, followed by reruns of Mualani and Chasca.
New Outfit, Quality-of-Life Improvements & More
Not to be left out, Yelan from Liyue gets a stunning new Fontaine-style outfit, Tranquil Banquet, which is available at a discounted rate for a limited time. She also brings a photography gadget to uncover hidden clues—perfect for sleuthing around Fontaine.
Other quality-of-life features include:
- Short tutorial videos for new characters on the Trial and Talent screens
- Auto time skip with the “Navigate” button
- Better material tracking for local specialties
