Magic: The Gathering (MTG) The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Set To Release Next Week

Come next week on the 23rd of June 2023, Wizards of the Coast will be releasing The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set which is Magic: The Gathering (MTG)’s biggest collaboration yet.

The new set will feature the many iconic characters, places and moments all reimagined for the Magic universe through both its art and gameplay mechanics.

The set will include a themed Starter Kit which has two decks legal in Modern, basic learning materials and tokens. There will also be celebratory events hosted on the 1st to 2nd July which will have more details being shared regarding it closer to the scheduled date.

Not only that, there will also be a The 1 of 1 Ring Promotion which has one copy of this premium foil card with a raised gold foil treatment inserted into an English language Collector Booster printed with 1 of 1 numbering and Elvish script.

The upcoming lord of the rings set will have multiple collectible card treatments to be found in Set Draft and Collector Boosters which include:

• Borderless Scene Cards: several iconic scenes ranging from 2×2 to 6×3 cards
• Full-Art Middle-earth Map Lands
• Showcase Ring Treatment Cards

The set also includes Draft Boosters, Set Boosters, Collector Boosters, Prerelease Packs, Bundles, Gift Bundles, Commander Decks, Jumpstart Boosters and Starter Kits. An additional Holiday release coming on 3rd November will include Collector Boosters Special Edition, Jumpstart Vol.2 and Scene Boxes.
