Admittedly, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean has been a hard sell. Unlike previous installments’ week-to-week releases, Stone Ocean has instead been delivered in seasonal episode dumps, usually ending on pretty big cliffhangers. With the final part releasing though, it’s a great time to start the adventures of Jolyne and the inmates of Dolphin Street Prison.

We were lucky enough to get a first look at the early episodes of the final part- and it’s every bit as gripping and thrilling as the rest of the ride has been so far.

What we saw was the Bohemian Rhapsody (Or Bohemian Ecstasy, if you prefer the subbed name) arc- and all that was racing through my mind was just how absolutely peak JoJo this fight is.

Interestingly enough you don’t actually see much of Jolyne these two episodes- they’re centered on Anasui and Weather Report, as they realize the plot has advanced without them and thusly break out of the prison in pursuit of the girls.

I won’t get too much into spoilers- if you know your JoJo, Anasui and Weather Report encounter another Stand User and spend 2 episodes figuring out the rules of the fight. It’s a particularly big episode for fans, since it also features multiple licensed characters. While not all of them made it in, the studio managed to pull in some big names to fill in the gap.

Still, it’s one of the most intense fights from Stone Ocean not directly involving Pucci himself. Rather than having a single Stand, the sheer scope of Bohemian Rhapsody is quite unlike anything the anime has shown off so far, with a pretty genius finale to top it all off.

The Race To Cape Canaveral

All in all, The Final Episodes are the kick off to my favorite part of any JoJo part- the mad rush to the final fight. Characters all know the stakes- Jolyne needs to stop Pucci, Pucci needs to get to Cape Canaveral.

Heck, you know the stakes are real when Stone Ocean busts out a new OP- a first for the anime. It’s a great song highlighting Jolyne’s journey so far, and is sure to hit some fans in the feels.
