This isn’t an enchantment, we have with us the newest MtG preview for the upcoming MtG Commander Classics: Battle For Baldur’s Gate with an all-new card: Modify Memory!

Wizards and Bards of the Forgotten Realms might be familiar with Modify Memory- it’s a great spell for getting out of sticky situations by making your targets conveniently forget key events- or even remembering them in more favorable conditions. Careful not to get interrupted or seen though- most people don’t take too kindly to knowing someone’s messing with memories.

In MtG however, you’ll definitely want to bring Modify Memory for your multiplayer commander games. At a converted 5 mana cost and only needing one blue mana, it’s great for any kind of deck, be it mono-blue or any mix. While you can’t actually alter your friends’ memories, the effect is as follows:

Exchange control of two target creatures controlled by different players. If you control neither  creature, draw three cards.

Now obviously, this is a good way to steal one of your opponent’s big beaters to add to your own menagerie. Is your opponent rocking some sick 5/5 behemoth? Not anymore, they aren’t.

However, the effect you really want comes into free-for-all games- why bother with your opponent’s stinky creatures when you can just get 3 more of your own cards? You’re basically getting 3 cards for the price of one, plus moving your opponent’s monsters around and potentially messing up their synergies.

Modify Memory and other cards will be available in MtG Commander Classics: Battle for Baldur’s Gate when the set launches officially on June 10th, with pre release events running from June 3rd.
