Blazblue Cross Tag Battle Rollback Update For PS4 Release Date Announced

Fans can finally enjoy the rollback netcode update for Blazblue Cross Tag Battle on PS4, as the update finally leaves beta and launches officially on consoles and PC.

The update, which improves the online for the tag fighter, will launch on April 14th for PS4 and PC, with no word on whether it would ever come to the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

The addition of PS4 to the supported consoles list is a huge deal for Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, following many fighting games on PC getting rollback netcode either as official releases or as betas pending a future release.

Arc System Works has been busy upgrading the online for their older titles- it started with Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, before moving on to Blazblue Centralfiction and Cross Tag Battle, leaving only a handful of titles like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy Versus and Guilty Gear Xrd as popular games running on Delay-based netcode.

While it launched without it, it was even confirmed that the re-release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax would be getting the solution in a future update.

It’s not just Arc System Works either- Capcom’s Capcom Fighter Collection is also set to revitalize titles like Dark Stalkers, as it sees many of these older games launched with the improved infrastructure as well.

In short, Rollback Netcode is a solution that allows for smoother online play over longer distances- something that was proven to be extremely important given the lack of in-person events in recent years.
