According to the trailer, Baiken will be coming to Guilty Gear Strive on the 28th of January for Season Pass holders, whereas her individual sale has a release date of 31st January.
Unlike previous characters, they’ve also released the starter guide for Baiken, giving us more information on how the fan-favorite character will work.
Baiken has lost her Alpha Counters from previous games, instead trading it in for a new tether mechanic where she can pull enemies towards her passively by connecting with her chain attack.
That being said, she retains her parry, letting her punish enemies for mindlessly pressing buttons and also having follow-ups for said parry to allow her to mount an offensive pressure.
She even has setup tools in the form of her air Tatami Gaeshi, with long active frames to keep opponents locked down.
Baiken has historically been one of the most beloved characters in the Guilty Gear series, topping many unofficial polls as a requested DLC character.
She’s also been one of the most loved by the developers, having the most elaborate intro in both the Xrd series as well as Guilty Gear Strive.
