Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Unboxing – LEGACY OF DESTRUCTION and Essential Selection 01

It was announced that the new Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Duel Monsters LEGACY OF DESTRUCTION in English Edition would be made available in Asia starting from June 15, 2024 onwards. Konami has graced us with a box containing the card packs along with the Essential Selection 01 pack which is also available now in English. These 2 packs are booster packs for the Asian-English Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game (OCG).

Without further ado, let’s see what the boxes have in store for us.

LEGACY OF DESTRUCTION

There are a total of 30 packs per box with 1 bonus pack which contains a rare card inside it. The main theme of the LEGACY OF DESTRUCTION box is the “Gandora the Dragon of Destruction” deck which was played by Yugi Muto, the protagonist of the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. Cards such as the “Silent Swordsman”, “Silent Magician”, “Gadget”, and “Marshmallon” relating to the effects of “Shining Sarcophagus” are also in this but we didn’t manage to get those specific cards.

The main cover of the box is the new version of Gandora, Gandora-G the Dragon of Destruction, which was released on Japan OCG January 27, 2024. Sadly, we didn’t manage to get this card either but we got some rare and strong cards as well such as the “Nightmare Apprentice”, “Varudras, the Final Bringer of the End Times”, “Bacha the Melodious Maestra” and “Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir”. It’s a surprise for the last card as its old but still useful. It was released on May 13, 2017 for the Japan OCG.

Additionally, this pack is a great upgrade for the “Ancient Gear” and “Lightworn” deck. It has also introduced a new pendulum deck called “Melodious”. 

Essential Selection 01

Moving onto the second pack, the Essential Selection 01.

There are a total of 15 packs per box. The main focus of this pack is significantly enhancing the English Edition for Asia, featuring many valuable cards. This includes powerful additions like “Accesscode Talker,” “I:P Masquerena,” and “Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju.”

Additionally, the pack offers rare and formidable cards such as “Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS Sky Thunder,” “Cosmic Cyclone,” “Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess,” and “Thunder King Rai-Oh.” Players can also strengthen various decks, including “Dark Magician,” “Blue-Eyes,” “Stardust,” and many more.
