Red Moon Workshop has officially announced Shot One Fighters, a new 2.5D roguelite fighting game hybrid coming to PC (Steam). The game is also set to launch a Kickstarter campaign, suggesting ongoing development support and community funding plans ahead of release.
Developed by industry veterans and in collaboration with fighting game community figures Justin Wong and JMCrofts, the project aims to merge the depth of traditional fighting games with the replayability of roguelite design.
Shot One Fighters Mixes Roguelite Progression with Fighting Game Mechanics

At its core, Shot One Fighters is designed as a single-player experience where every run plays differently. Players choose a fighter, build a custom moveset, and progress through increasingly difficult encounters across a sci-fi inspired universe.
Unlike standard fighting games, progression here is persistent within each run. Every move learned is directly usable, meaning players actively construct their combat style through gameplay rather than pre-set move lists.
The game also introduces artifacts that modify gameplay rules, creating unpredictable combinations that can either strengthen a build or completely disrupt it.
Build Your Own Fighter Every Run

One of the defining features of Shot One Fighters is its extensive customization system. Players can unlock and equip over 100 different moves, spanning multiple characters, allowing for highly personalized fighting styles.
These moves include core fighting game mechanics such as combos, counters, projectiles, and gap closers, all mapped to streamlined controls designed to remain accessible for newcomers while still supporting depth for experienced fighting game players.
In addition, players will encounter over 100 artifacts, which can dramatically alter how each run plays out. Some artifacts enhance power, while others introduce unpredictable or even detrimental effects that force adaptation on the fly.
Roguelite Structure with High Replayability

The game features a traditional roguelite structure, where each run presents new challenges and opportunities. Players face a variety of enemies, elite encounters, and boss fights designed to test their evolving builds.
Red Moon Workshop also highlights over 60 unique events and NPC encounters, adding narrative variation and additional gameplay layers to each playthrough.
A key gameplay loop involves balancing risk and reward—choosing whether to push forward with a strong build or experiment with new combinations that may be unstable but highly rewarding.
Story Set in a Collapsing Universe

Shot One Fighters takes place in a sci-fi setting where reality itself is being consumed by a force known as the Paradox. The story follows protagonist Volley, who explores a fractured universe while searching for her missing friend Vlad.
Each time Volley is defeated, she awakens inside a massive mech-like structure she calls home, which acts as a central hub that can be rebuilt and expanded over time. This hub also serves as a narrative anchor where characters encountered during runs return and contribute to the evolving story.
Designed with Fighting Game Community Input

The development team has confirmed collaboration with fighting game veterans Justin Wong and JMCrofts, ensuring that core mechanics retain authenticity while still being accessible in a single-player roguelite format.
The game uses a six-button control scheme designed to replicate fighting game inputs while simplifying execution barriers for new players.
Shot One Fighters Coming Soon to Steam

At the time of announcement, Shot One Fighters is listed as “coming soon” on Steam, with no official release date confirmed. The Kickstarter campaign is expected to provide further development updates and community involvement opportunities.
With its mix of roguelite systems, fighting game mechanics, and heavy customization, Shot One Fighters is positioning itself as a hybrid experiment that could appeal to both competitive fighting game fans and single-player roguelite enthusiasts.
