Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi have revealed Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a new free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter coming to iOS and Android devices. Players can now pre-register for the game through its official website.
The game brings the Ratchet & Clank franchise to mobile platforms with a focus on fast-paced arena combat. Players will use explosive weapons and take on the role of Legendary Heroes from the series, each with their own unique abilities.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble features real-time multiplayer matches where players can either play solo or team up with other players online. Oh BiBi, the studio behind BEAST: Bio Exo Arena Suit Team, is developing the title. The game will be free to download when it launches. No release date has been announced yet, but pre-registration is currently open for interested players.

This marks Sony’s second mobile gaming announcement in recent days, following the reveal of Horizon Steel Frontiers earlier this week. The MMORPG, developed in partnership with NCSoft, also brings a PlayStation franchise to mobile platforms with a focus on multiplayer gameplay. Both titles represent Sony’s continued push into the mobile gaming market with established properties from their console lineup.
With Ranger Rumble targeting arena shooter fans and Steel Frontiers appealing to MMORPG players, Sony appears to be diversifying its mobile offerings to reach different gaming audiences.
