Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent launches today

The mobile prequel to Octopath Traveler, bearing its mouthful of a name in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, will launch today! Square Enix has not given a time of when servers will launch, and considering they having reached a whopping 880,000 pre-registrations and typical first day server issues, it will likely be a while before anyone would be able to play it properly.

The game has three main story branches and their corresponding villains:

• The One who Attained Wealth
• The One who Attained Power
• The One who Attained Fame

… in which 64 Travelers from the eight regions of Osterra will do battle against. Keep an eye out on the official Twitter for news regarding the servers, while the rest of us wait to see if this game will ever get localized for the Western audience and beyond some time in the future.
