New School-Life RPG Varlet Will Launch On Switch, PS5 And PC This August

Clouded Leopard Entertainment (CLE) and FURYU has recently announced that their upcoming school-life RPG VARLET will be releasing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The launch date will be set on August 28 across regions in Asia at the same time as its Japanese launch.

Additionally, a Limited Edition package titled the Limited BOX will be released around the time of base game launching. This edition will include a Creative Art Book, a Special Album CD featuring character theme songs, a Special Album CD containing tracks from the game’s background music and a Premium Canvas Board with newly illustrated artworks.

A Protagonist Uniform Set DLC Card is also included, allowing players to change the main character’s outfit to different styles with inspiration taken by Monark and Caligula2, as well as a set of Original Stickers of various in-game icons all kept in an Exclusive Illustrated Box.

Varlet is a school life RPG in which players explore a version of themselves they never knew existed, through encounters with classmates who grapple with their identities and emerge stronger from their struggles.

The story follows a transfer student arriving at Kousei Academy, where they uncover the presence of Glitches (alternate realms inhabited by monsters) and the unsettling truth that many humans have already been replaced by these entities. To save a school teetering on the edge of collapse, the protagonist must team up with new allies and take a stand.

The gameplay focuses on the theme of discovering one’s youth. Players can immerse themselves in the daily life of a student by offering advice to classmates or spending time with intriguing companions after school. Combat is driven by a fast-paced, intuitive Timeline Command Battle system. Players can choose between two distinct combat styles: Leader, who enhances team performance through support, or Ruler, who dominates enemies with powerful abilities.
