Artian weapons represent one of the most customizable and potentially powerful weapon systems in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unlike traditional weapons with fixed stats, Artian weapons can be tailored to your playstyle through a combination of specific parts and reinforcement bonuses. This guide will walk you through unlocking, crafting, reinforcing, and optimizing these unique weapons.

To access Artian weapon crafting, you must reach Hunter Rank (HR) 20 and defeat both the Tempered Lala Barina and Guardian Fulgur Anjanath. Once these requirements are met, you’ll begin receiving Artian weapon parts from Tempered monster hunts. These parts appear as appraisal.

Artian Weapon Parts
Artian weapons are crafted using four types of parts: Blade, Disc, Tube, and Device. These components come in three rarity levels (6, 7, and 8), with higher rarity weapons offering better base stats and more gem slots. Each part also carries specific elemental properties and Artian bonuses that affect the final weapon’s attributes.

When crafting Artian weapons, all parts must be of the same rarity level. For elemental weapons, at least two parts must share the desired element, and using all three parts with the same element provides an additional elemental boost. You can preview the final weapon’s attributes on the right side of the crafting screen before committing to the build. For non-elemental weapons, simply use three parts with different elements.
Weapon Type | Required Parts |
GreatSword | Blade + Blade + Tube |
Long Sword | Blade + Tube + Tube |
Sword and Shield | Blade + Tube + Disc |
Dual Blades | Blade + Blade + Disc |
Hammer | Disc + Disc + Tube |
Hunting Horn | Disc + Device + Device |
Lance | Blade + Disc + Disc |
Gunlance | Disc + Disc + Device |
Switch Axe | Blade + Blade + Device |
Charge Blade | Blade + Disc + Device |
Insect Glaive | Blade + Tube + Device |
Light Bowgun | Tube + Device + Device |
Heavy Bowgun | Disc + Tube + Device |
Bow | Tube + Tube + Device |
Artian weapons can be crafted with nine different elements: Fire, Thunder, Water, Ice, Dragon, Paralysis, Sleep, Blast, and Poison. Your choice of elements should align with your hunting strategy and the monster’s weaknesses.

Reinforcing Artian Weapons
Each Artian weapon can be reinforced up to five times, with each reinforcement providing a random bonus from the following options:
For most weapons:
- +5 Attack Boost
- +5 Affinity Boost
- Element Boost
- Greatsword +80
- Lance, Change Blade, Longsword, Gunlance, Hammer, Hunting Horn +50
- Insect Glaive, Bow, Sword and Shield, Switch Axe +30
- Dual Blades +20
- Element Boost
- +30 Weapon Sharpness
For Light and Heavy Bowguns:
- +5 Attack Boost
- +5 Affinity Boost
- +1 Capacity Boost
To reinforce Artian weapons, you’ll need special ore materials obtained through Festival Shares at the Smelting Foundry in the Everforge. These materials can be acquired by speaking to Roqul or collecting them from Nata at your camp. After defeating the high-rank version of Jin Dahaad, you can break down monster parts into more of this ore by visiting Roqul at the Foundry in the Oilwell Basin base camp.

If you’re unhappy with the reinforcement bonuses on your weapon, you can dismantle it to recover the reinforcement materials. This allows you to try again for a more favorable set of bonuses without losing your valuable resources.
Optimal Elemental Weapons
Main Priority: Dual Blades, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun, Bow
Second Priority: Lance, Sword and Shield, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Long Sword
Less Priority: Hammer, GreatSword, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Insect Glaive
For Dual Blades, the ideal reinforcement combination might be three Element Boosts and two Weapon Sharpness bonuses, maximizing both damage output and combat efficiency.

Optimization Strategy (The RNG Factor)
Moreover, the reinforcement system is based on RNG, meaning each weapon has a predetermined sequence of reinforcement bonuses that cannot be changed through save scumming. The optimal upgrade path for most elemental weapons is to get 5x Element Boost, while Attack Boost x5 is ideal for raw damage builds. While for Dual Blades we think it’s best to have x3 + Element Boost & x2 +30 Weapon sharpness. We suggest the following optimal reinforcement patterns for different weapon types, though your preferred setup may vary based on playstyle:
For elemental-focused melee weapons:
- 5× Elemental Boost or 4× Elemental Boost + 1× Sharpness
For raw damage-focused melee weapons:
- 5× Attack Boost or 4× Attack Boost + 1× Sharpness
These suggestions provide a starting point for your farming goals, but remember that the ideal combination may differ depending on your hunting style, monster matchups, and personal preferences.
To obtain your perfect weapon, you’ll need to craft multiple weapons of the same type and track their reinforcement patterns. For example, if you want Dragon element Dual Blades with Element Up x5, you might create multiple Dual Blades and note what bonuses they receive. If the 13th Dual Blade has the perfect reinforcement pattern, you’ll need to farm enough materials to craft 13 weapons, then you’ll need to burn through the materials until you reach 12th, and then use the optimum materials to create the 13th weapon.

This method requires extensive farming of Artian parts and careful tracking of your crafting patterns, making it a significant but rewarding endgame grind. While time-consuming, the resulting customized weapon can be perfectly tailored to your hunting style and significantly enhance your monster-slaying capabilities.
Artian weapons represent some of the most powerful and customizable options in Monster Hunter Wilds, but acquiring the perfect weapon requires dedication and strategic planning. By understanding the crafting system and patiently tracking reinforcement patterns, you can eventually create weapons perfectly tailored to your hunting style.
Happy hunting!
