Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have once again reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is still scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The update was shared by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick during an interview with Variety ahead of the company’s Q4 2026 financial results briefing. Following months of speculation and online rumors surrounding the highly anticipated open-world title, the confirmation gives players renewed confidence that the game remains on track for its planned release window.
Take-Two Interactive Reaffirms Grand Theft Auto VI Release Plans

Speaking about the launch timing, Strauss Zelnick emphasized that the company has been consistent about its release plans for Grand Theft Auto VI. According to him, reaffirming the November 19 release date should be viewed as a positive sign for both players and investors eagerly waiting for the next major entry in the franchise.
Zelnick stated that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have remained clear about their intentions to release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026. While he avoided discussing specific marketing strategies or future announcements during the earnings call, he acknowledged that fans are closely monitoring every update related to the game.

The confirmation arrives after increasing speculation online about possible pre-order announcements. Rumors recently gained traction after a Best Buy affiliate email appeared to suggest that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI would begin this week. However, Zelnick stopped short of confirming any pre-order timing or pricing information.
He also clarified that the latest financial briefing would not include any official pricing announcement for the game.
Rockstar Games Marketing Campaign Expected This Summer

Although Take-Two Interactive did not reveal new trailers or gameplay details, Strauss Zelnick did provide a small update regarding the marketing rollout for Grand Theft Auto VI.
According to Zelnick, Rockstar Games is expected to begin its broader marketing campaign during the summer period. He noted that the next few weeks would not yet qualify as summer, suggesting that promotional activity could begin closer to late June or beyond.
This aligns with previous expectations that Rockstar Games would gradually ramp up promotion for Grand Theft Auto VI closer to launch. Fans are now anticipating potential new trailers, gameplay showcases, screenshots, and pre-order details over the coming months.
Given the enormous anticipation surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI, many industry analysts expect the title to become one of the biggest entertainment launches in gaming history. The game’s first trailer previously shattered viewership records online, while discussions surrounding the title continue to dominate gaming communities worldwide.

Since its official reveal, Grand Theft Auto VI has remained one of the most anticipated upcoming releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Rockstar Games has kept details relatively limited, which has only fueled further excitement and speculation among fans.
The upcoming title is expected to deliver a massive open-world experience, continuing the legacy established by previous entries such as Grand Theft Auto V.
