Square Enix has shared a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, and confirmed the game will launch in Spring 2027. The trailer, called “The Planet’s Crisis,” was shown during gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live.

The trailer focuses on the Weapons, massive guardian creatures that awaken to protect the planet during its time of crisis. These Weapons do not tell friend from foe, and their rampage causes heavy destruction across the world. Cloud and his companions are shown fighting the Weapons in different settings, including desert areas, aerial battles, and underwater locations, all while continuing their larger mission to stop Sephiroth.
Along with the Weapons, the trailer introduced a new summon called Typhon. It also showed more of the game’s open-world exploration, including traveling by parachute, using a grappling hook, and riding Chocobos. Cloud and Tifa were also shown wearing their Warrior and Black Mage FITS, part of a new system being introduced in Revelation. The FITS system gives characters special outfits that unlock new abilities and boost their strength, with each outfit tied to a role inspired by classic Final Fantasy job classes.

With a Spring 2027 release window now confirmed for Final Fantasy VII Revelation with the recent trailer, fans of the trilogy have a clearer picture of when this long-running story will finally come to an end.
