Final Blade, the oriental fantasy RPG by SkyPeople in associated with Glohow has finally come to the global market last week. Thanks to its previous releases in South Korea and Taiwan since two years ago, many players have helped to improve the gameplay and the game we get now is a well-polished one. We tried out the game, so here is our Final Blade review where we will comment on various aspects of the game.

For those who are new to Final Blade, it is a strategy and collection RPG in which you will play as a Black Prince who must gather forces to fend off evils. The game features a huge cast of characters – there are over 300 of them, all impressively rendered in 2D. Its gameplay is pretty much a 2.5D side-scroller with beautiful 3D artworks and voice actings at certain cutscenes.

At the beginning of the game, you will be able to choose one from the 4 heroes and he/she will be your first hero in your adventure. Heroes come in 5 classes – Warrior, Assassin, Marksman, Monk and Mage. Every hero comes with their unique skills (you can preview the skills) and stats, you could assign them strategically in your team.

Summoning heroes of course cost in-game currencies such as Gold and Sapphire. The good thing is, you can easily earn Sapphires from missions and daily rewards so you can get a good team in no time. As you fight through the Adventure mode, enemies may drop red spirits that you can tap manually to earn sapphires or pearls too. While most of us usually auto-play through the game, you can assign a Fairy to help you collect the red spirits. You will receive an hour of free Fairy time per day, or you can get the Package at a very worthy price.

Talking about the automation aspect, the game allows you to automate most of the things. You can auto-replay stages using sweep tickets, and even automatically play through the stages using the “continue battle” feature (until you are defeated or running out of rice/energy). You can buy team formations and assign your heroes into it manually or by an easier way – you auto-deploy them.

Like most of the RPGs, you complete stages to earn EXP, currencies and items, then you level up your heroes or equipment to get stronger and to challenge more difficult stages. Final Blade comes with an interesting enhance and combine feature. You enhance a hero by consuming other heroes, while each hero provides different enhance rate depending on its rarity.

The combine feature is available once you have 2 units that are enhanced to MAX. Combining your hero steps up its rarity, however result from the combine is random – you might get a Monk even if you combine two Warrior hero. Thankfully, you can always reroll the result using Sapphire.

As you level up, you will unlock many new features including PvP Duel, Raid Boss and Endless Tower. You can join a clan as well, which you can gain a lot of benefits from the various clan activities. All these modes are more than enough to keep you busy and entertained!

The gameplay in Final Blade is quite common in the RPG genre, but some of the mechanics come with a twist so it is pretty much an interesting game. Moreover, it features an engaging story along with stunning visuals. If you are looking for an RPG that you can invest your time in, Final Blade should be in your consideration list.
