The Suikoden Project Team has shared a new update on Suikoden STAR LEAP, the first mobile RPG entry in Konami’s long-running fantasy series. While no official release date has been set yet, the team has laid out the order in which the game will launch across regions and platforms.

STAR LEAP was first announced in spring 2025 and is described as a full mainline entry in the Suikoden series, not a spinoff or side game. The story follows a new cast of characters and takes place two years before the events of the original Suikoden I, with the narrative set to span multiple eras across the series timeline. Producer Shinya Fujimatsu has described the game as a blend of mobile and console gaming, aiming to deliver visuals, music, and storytelling on par with console titles while keeping the accessibility that comes with a mobile game. It will be free-to-play.

As for the rollout, Japan gets it first. The iOS and Android version will launch in Japan ahead of everywhere else. The global mobile version comes after that, and the Steam version will be last, though it will release simultaneously worldwide when it does arrive. The developers noted that release date announcements for each version will be shared gradually, meaning players waiting for the global release can expect its date to be revealed sometime after the Japanese version is already out.

One thing worth noting is that the global version will not be available in all countries and regions. The Suikoden Project Team did not specify which places will be excluded. The team explained that the staggered release plan is meant to give them enough time to properly prepare and optimize the game for each platform, and to ensure smooth access for players across different regions.
