Spike Chunsoft has officially confirmed that Danganronpa 2×2 will also be launching on the Epic Games Store.
The announcement was made through the company’s official social media channels with a short teaser message featuring Monokuma’s iconic “Puhuhu!” laugh. While the reveal expands the game’s PC platform availability beyond Steam, many fans immediately shifted their attention toward one major question that still remains unanswered: when is the game actually releasing?
At the time of writing, Spike Chunsoft has yet to announce an official release date for Danganronpa 2×2, with the game still broadly scheduled for 2026.
A New Killing Game Begins on Jabberwock Island
Danganronpa 2×2 takes players back to Jabberwock Island, the setting originally featured in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. What begins as a seemingly peaceful school trip quickly spirals into another deadly killing game orchestrated by Monokuma.
Players will once again investigate murders, gather clues, and participate in the series’ signature Class Trials. During these trials, students debate one another in fast-paced courtroom sequences where players must use “Truth Bullets” to expose contradictions and uncover the culprit.
The game is divided into three main gameplay phases: Daily Life, Investigation, and Class Trial, combining visual novel storytelling with detective gameplay and deduction mechanics.
Brand-New Story Scenario Included
One of the biggest features in Danganronpa 2×2 is its completely new scenario built around the cast and setting of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair.
According to Spike Chunsoft, the new storyline introduces an entirely fresh chain of victims, culprits, and mysteries while maintaining a similar scale and length to the original game. Fans can expect new twists, investigations, and class trial sequences designed specifically for this release.
Enhanced Original Story Also Included
Alongside the new scenario, Danganronpa 2×2 will also include the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair story with upgraded visuals and presentation improvements for modern platforms.
The updated version aims to make the original experience more accessible while preserving the series’ iconic style and storytelling.

Despite the new Epic Games Store announcement, Spike Chunsoft still has not revealed an exact launch date for Danganronpa 2×2.
