Pokémon GO is turning 10, and Niantic is going all out for the anniversary. As part of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, the game is hosting 26 Community Celebrations in cities around the world, including several stops right here in Southeast Asia.
Taking place on July 11 and 12, 2026, Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is a worldwide in-game event featuring Mewtwo and Zeraora. This year, the event is completely free for all trainers who are logged in during the event weekend. That means Special Research, extra bonuses, and a higher chance of running into Shiny Pokémon are open to everyone at no cost.
To mark the 10th anniversary, each day of GO Fest 2026: Global will also include an extra hour of gameplay, giving trainers nine full event hours each day. Three Southeast Asian cities are included in the Community Celebrations lineup, each running on both days of the event:
- Jakarta, Indonesia
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Bangkok, Thailand
All three locations will run the full event hours from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Each Community Celebration is described as a free, public pop-up event with a fully branded Pokémon GO experience. Trainers who attend can look forward to:
- Interactive activities at the event space
- Photo opportunities
- Activities alongside local Community Ambassadors and their communities
- Giveaways and prizes
These events are also a good chance for trainers to meet fellow players in their area, whether they are brand new to the game or long-time veterans.
