Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Croteam have officially announced The Talos Principle III for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The highly anticipated sequel is scheduled to launch sometime in 2027.
The announcement marks the return of one of gaming’s most celebrated philosophical puzzle franchises, following the success of The Talos Principle and The Talos Principle II. Alongside the reveal, the developers also released a teaser trailer and the first batch of screenshots, offering an early glimpse at the mysterious new setting known as the Anomaly.
A Strange World Where Physics No Longer Behave

According to the official overview, players will awaken inside the Anomaly, a bizarre location described as the only place in the universe where the laws of physics no longer function properly. The world combines crumbling ancient temples with abandoned scientific facilities, creating a surreal atmosphere that blends science fiction with philosophical fantasy.
As players progress through the game, they will uncover fragmented memories while reliving the life of an explorer connected to humanity’s distant future. The story appears set to continue the series’ tradition of exploring existential themes surrounding life, death, consciousness, and the meaning of humanity.
The developers describe the Anomaly as a place filled with uncertainty, where some believe it represents Heaven while others see it as Hell. One thing remains clear throughout the experience: judgement awaits those who enter.
New Puzzles and Deeper Mysteries Await

The Talos Principle III promises a fresh collection of increasingly complex puzzles that build upon mechanics introduced in previous entries while also adding entirely new gameplay systems.
Croteam says players can focus solely on completing the core journey or spend additional time uncovering hidden secrets and deeper narrative layers throughout the Anomaly. The puzzle design aims to push the series to new heights, continuing its reputation for challenging but rewarding gameplay that encourages experimentation and critical thinking.

The game’s environments will also take players across different parts of humanity’s future history, including terraformed desert planets and the gardens of Elysium. According to the developers, the sequel presents a hopeful vision of a post-scarcity civilization that still grapples with deeply human struggles and emotions.
Returning Creative Team and Original Soundtrack

The narrative for The Talos Principle III is once again being written by the returning team of Jonas Kyratzes, Verena Kyratzes, and Tom Jubert, all of whom played major roles in shaping the identity and philosophical tone of previous games in the series.
Meanwhile, composer Damjan Mravunac will return to create a brand-new original soundtrack. His music has become one of the defining elements of the franchise, helping establish the emotional and reflective atmosphere that fans have come to expect from the series.

With its reveal now official, The Talos Principle III is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated puzzle games currently planned for PlayStation 5 and PC players in 2027.
