Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works have officially revealed two new playable fighters for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, with Hulk and Black Panther joining the roster ahead of the game’s launch later this year. The latest trailer also introduced a brand-new stage based on Wakanda, while teasing a dangerous new villain known as The Champion.
The upcoming four-versus-four tag fighting game continues to build momentum as one of the most anticipated superhero fighting titles set to release in 2026.
Hulk and Black Panther Join the Fighting Avengers

Hulk and Black Panther now join previously announced heroes Captain America and Iron Man as part of the newly formed team known as the Fighting Avengers. According to the game’s story setup, this squad unites to face a new threat targeting Earth.
Each character brings a distinct playstyle designed to reflect their comic book identity. Hulk focuses on raw power and destructive offense, while Black Panther specializes in mobility, precision, and fast combo pressure.
This new team is expected to play a major role in the game’s Episode Mode, where players experience an original Marvel storyline built specifically for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
Hulk Brings Gamma Rage Power

Hulk enters battle as a close-range powerhouse capable of overwhelming opponents with brutal attacks. His gameplay revolves around building a Gamma Gauge, which increases as he channels his anger during battle.
Once the gauge is full, Hulk activates Gamma Rage, significantly boosting both strength and speed. This allows him to unleash devastating attacks that can quickly turn the tide of a match.
His redesigned look also features dinosaur bone armor, reflecting his exile to the Savage Land and emphasizing a more feral version of the character.
Shuri Becomes Black Panther

This version of Black Panther is Shuri, now ruler of Wakanda and protector of her people. Her design blends royal elegance with high-speed athletic combat, giving players a stylish and agile fighter.
In battle, she uses the Spear of Bashenga for strong mid-range attacks while relying on Bast’s Blessing, a mobility skill that lets her dash in multiple directions. This creates strong combo opportunities and unpredictable mix-ups.
Players who enjoy fast, technical characters may find Black Panther one of the most exciting additions to the roster.
Wakanda Stage and New Villain Revealed

The new Wakanda stage adds another visually impressive battleground to the game. Known for its advanced technology and rich natural landscapes, Wakanda is one of Marvel’s most iconic settings.
The trailer also introduced The Champion, one of the Elders of the Universe. Obsessed with combat, he has chosen Earth as the next location for his deadly tournament, where teams of four fighters must battle for survival.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Release Date

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
With a growing roster, flashy tag-team combat, and iconic Marvel characters, the game is shaping up to be one of the biggest fighting game releases of the year.
