MIMARU, a Japanese apartment-style hotel brand has expanded its Pokemon-themed accommodations across Japan. The renovated rooms are now available at 10 properties in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, with reservations open through November 2026.
First introduced in 2019, the Pokémon Rooms have been updated with two main goals: adding more Pokémon characters and creating better experiences for families. Each room now features over 100 different Pokémon placed throughout the space, including on walls, ceilings, furniture, kitchens, and bathrooms. The newly renovated rooms are available at additional locations, including MIMARU TOKYO HATCHOBORI and MIMARU TOKYO IKEBUKURO. The rooms maintain MIMARU’s apartment-style layout with full kitchens, separate sleeping areas, and dining spaces designed for families and groups.

The rooms include several notable features. Water-type Pokémon decorate the bathroom areas, while food-themed Pokémon appear in the kitchen. A large Snorlax plushie sits on the bed as a focal point for photos. Poké Ball designs appear on dining tables, tableware like plates and mugs, and bed linens. Smaller Pokémon are hidden throughout the rooms for guests to discover. Each stay includes MIMARU-original Pokémon merchandise, such as fabric bags and collectible items. The hotels are located near major tourist sites, shopping areas, and transportation connections in their respective cities.

MIMARU’s properties offer amenities common in Western hotels but less typical in Japan, including kitchen facilities that let guests prepare their own meals and larger room sizes suitable for groups. The company reports strong bookings from families, couples, and Pokémon fans, with guests describing the experience as feeling like they are inside the Pokémon world.
