Fresh from the One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Netflix has unveiled the first look at Season 2 of its hit live-action pirate adventure, ONE PIECE. The series will return in 2026 with fiercer adversaries, grander quests, and the most perilous seas yet.
Additionally, Netflix has confirmed an early renewal for Season 3, which begins production later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for the upcoming season.
Season 2 takes Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew into the fabled Grand Line, a legendary sea filled with wonder and danger. Throughout their unpredictable journey, they will explore bizarre islands, face formidable enemies, and continue the search for the world’s greatest treasure — the One Piece.
A Proven Global Phenomenon
Since debuting in 2023, Netflix’s ONE PIECE has become a worldwide hit. It topped charts in over 75 countries, spent eight consecutive weeks in the Global Top 10, and made history as the first English-language Netflix series to debut at #1 in Japan. The series now boasts nearly 100 million views and ranks among Netflix’s most downloaded shows of all time.

The show has also earned critical acclaim, securing 11 nominations at the 3rd Children’s & Family Emmy Awards. It won Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Live Action Program and Outstanding Original Song for a Children’s or Young Teen Program for “My Sails are Set”. These accolades join earlier nominations for Outstanding Young Teen Series and further highlight the series’ remarkable production quality.
Production and Creative Team
Season 3 will see Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Season 2 is led by Matt Owens and Joe Tracz. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the original manga, also returns as an executive producer alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda.

Produced in partnership with Shueisha and Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner), ONE PIECE adapts Japan’s highest-selling manga of all time, with over 500 million copies sold across more than 100 volumes. The live-action series stays faithful to the source material while bringing its high-seas action to life in a cinematic format.
