Aniplex and Akatsuki Games have announced that HYKE:Northern Light(s), a 2D top-down action RPG, will release on September 18, 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, priced at RM130.

Initially revealed as a collaboration between Aniplex, Akatsuki Games, and developer Blast Edge Games, this title marks a new direction into pixel-art RPGs for the publishers. Moreover, a new trailer introducing the protagonist Hyke is expected soon via Aniplex’s official social media platforms.
A Journey Through the Forbidden

HYKE:Northern Light(s) is set in a world fractured by a long-standing war between humans and witches, the game follows its titular heroine, Hyke. She ventures into uncharted “Forbidden Areas,” dangerous regions protected by the Meteos—powerful witches who serve as both guardians and enemies. Guided by fading memories of her mother, Hyke embarks on a quest to uncover her past and understand the world left behind by war.
Classic Pixel Action Meets Customization

Gameplay unfolds in a 2D pixel-art style, offering real-time combat and multiple playable characters. Each character brings a distinct playstyle, allowing players to approach battles in different ways. In addition, players can visit campsites to rest, manage gear, prepare meals for stat boosts, and fine-tune their loadouts. These resting points add a layer of strategy between the action sequences.
