Blizzard Entertainment has just revealed details for the new class coming to the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV called Spiritborn.

The Spiritborn is an entirely new class in the Diablo series, that calls upon the unique strengths of Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle, and Centipede Spirit Guardians to overcome any nightmare the Burning Hells throws their way. The new class will be released alongside the Vessel of Hatred expansion on October 8, 2024.

Spiritborn are agile and versatile warriors known for their powerful three-hit combo attacks and acrobatic skills. Masters of close-range combat, they use spirit energy and a glaive to extend their ferocity. Their physical abilities enable them to block or dodge attacks, either absorbing the energy or redirecting it back at their enemies.

The Spirit Realm

The Spirit Realm is essentially a place where spirits reside. It was formed when Inarius and Lilith created Sanctuary and altered the Worldstone, releasing a veil of magical energy. This sacred plane, shaped by human beliefs, mirrors Sanctuary and serves a purpose for jungle spirits beyond life. Ancient Spirit Guardians protect the realm from angels and demons. Various spirits inhabit the Spirit Realm, including certain human spirits drawn mysteriously, animal, insect, and plant spirits that evolve over time, and Spirit Guardians who have grown massive from concentrated magical energy.

Your Guardians Against Darkness

Spirit Guardians embody the connection between humans and the natural world. The warrior draws strength from the Gorilla, the hunter gains speed from the Jaguar, the strategist finds vigilance in the Eagle, and the apothecary sees her craft in the Centipede and its ability to consume decay.

In times of need, the Spiritborn summon the most appropriate Guardian, utilizing their abilities. This adaptability and devotion to the Guardians make the Spiritborn agile and versatile jungle warriors.

The Spiritborn introduces a new Skill Tag: Incarnate. When equipped, the Spiritborn gains passive bonuses by embodying the traits of the associated Guardian. When activated, they harness the Guardian’s full power.

The Jaguar is relentless and violent, attacking repeatedly with blinding speed and fury. Constantly ramping up in lethality and keeping its fire burning in between kills.

The embodiment of resilience and retaliation, the Gorilla not only shrugs off incoming damage but ensures their reprisals are brutal, swift and final. This Guardian embodies pure dominance and efficient resolution to protect its own at all costs.

The Eagle is lethal and attacks its prey with pinpoint precision. Its movement speed and amplified Evade, combined with extendable mid-ranged attacks, come together to deliver a concentrated burst of pain upon your foes.

Draining the strength of foes to sustain itself, the Centipede is a manifestation of the inescapable cycle of death. Wield debilitating Poison damage and disruptive crowd control to reduce any opposition to a lifeless husk.

Pre-purchase is available now for the Vessel of Hatred expansion. Each edition will feature rewards that will be unlocked upon purchase with the exception of the DLC which will be released on October 8, 2024.
