The Persona 5 mobile spin-off game Persona 5: The Phantom X might have a chance to be launched in Japan and worldwide with a Global version, as SEGA is considering it.

In the latest financial report, publisher SEGA noted that for Persona 5: The Phantom X, “future expansion in Japan and global is under consideration”.

The title launched on 12 April 2024 in China and on 18 April 2024 in Taiwan and South Korea. The report did not reveal how well Persona 5: The Phantom X has performed in those regions thus far, simply stating that results are “as excepted”.

Since SEGA is considering global expansion for the mobile spin-off, one could believe it would have likely made a decent revenue return.

As mentioned, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a mobile spin-off of the highly acclaimed RPG by Atlus and would follow a new ragtag crew instead of the Phantom Thieves.

Themed around “desire”, fans will be introduced to a new protagonist by the name of “Wonder” as he awakens the power of “Persona Masks” and lives a double life between school and the Metaverse much like the original game.

The gameplay is largely similar to Persona 5, but with a more simplified UI and control scheme that caters to mobile devices, and more crucially, this title will be a gacha game.

This means characters would be obtainable by pulling them from banners, instead of recruiting them through progression.
