Today marks the 6th Anniversary Event for Pokemon GO, and with that, new Pokemon encounters as well as research tasks.
The event will be kick starting off on Wednesday, 6th July, 2022, starting at 10:00 a.m. local time till Tuesday, 12th July. 2022, 8:00 p.m.
Party Hats and Cake Costumes
New limited event Pokemon for the Pokemon GO 6th Anniversary with celebratory party hats will be out in the wild for players to catch, those list of event Pokemon are:
- Party Hat Charmeleon*
- Party Hat Charizard*
- Cake Costume Pikachu*
Other wild encounters that you can find more frequently during the anniversary event are:

Anniversary Research Tasks
According to Serebii, here are the list of tasks and rewards that are available during the 6th anniversary event:
Task 1:
- Catch 15 Pokémon: 15x PokéBalls
- Catch 5 different species of Pokémon: 10x Great Ball
- Make 5 Nice Throws: 5x Ultra Ball
- Make 3 Great Throws: 500 XP
- Make 5 Curveball Throws: Foongus Encounter
- Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokémon: 500 Stardust
Completion Reward: Cake Costume Pikachu Encounter, 1x Poffin
Task 2:
- Play with your buddy: 5x Razz Berry
- Give your buddy a treat: 5x Nanab Berry
- Take a snapshot of your buddy: Pinap Berry
- Battle another trainer with your buddy Pokémon while it’s adventuring with you: 500 XP
- Earn 5 hearts with your buddy: Eevee Encounter
- Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy: 500 Stardust
Completion Reward: Party Hat Charmander Encounter

- Take 5 snapshot of wild Pokémon: 5x Potion
- Take a snapshot of Charmander: 5x Revive
- Take a snapshot of your buddy: 15x PokéBall
