Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled a new 27” Gaming Monitor designed specifically for desktop PS5 gaming. It aims to provide high-quality visuals and audio for players who want to enjoy PlayStation games outside the living room. Shuzo Kikuchi, Vice President of Product Management at SIE, explained that the monitor addresses the growing trend of gamers seeking more flexibility in where they play. Whether at a desk or remotely via PlayStation Portal, players now have another option. The monitor will launch in 2026 in the U.S. and Japan.

High-Quality Visuals for Desktop Play

The monitor features a Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It supports High Dynamic Range with Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which automatically adjusts HDR settings on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. This ensures bright and vivid visuals without requiring manual setup. In addition, it supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and refresh rates up to 120 Hz on PS5 consoles and 240 Hz on compatible PC and Mac devices. Consequently, desktop gamers can enjoy smooth gameplay with minimal tearing.

Built-In Controller Charging and Audio Support

A standout feature is the built-in DualSense charging hook, which lets players charge their DualSense or DualSense Edge controllers directly on the monitor. Furthermore, it pairs with the recently announced Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, delivering lifelike audio and seamless voice chat. This combination enhances the overall desktop gaming experience and makes setup easier for users who prefer an immersive audio-visual environment.

The PlayStation 27” Gaming Monitor offers a wide range of connectivity options. It features two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two USB Type-A ports, and one USB Type-C port compatible with PlayStation Link adapters or other devices. The monitor is also VESA-mount compatible, allowing for flexible installation in any desktop setup.
