The LEGO Group and SEGA have officially announced a brand new set called the LEGO SEGA: SEGA Genesis Console. The set is a detailed display model built to honor one of the most iconic gaming consoles ever made, and it comes with a fun twist for fans across different regions. One of the highlights of this set is that builders can choose how to display it. The model can be customized to look like either the SEGA Genesis or the SEGA Mega Drive, which is the name the console went by outside of North America. Both versions are represented with decorative stickers included in the box.
The set comes with 479 pieces and is recommended for ages 12 and up. When fully built, it measures over 1.5 inches high, 6 inches wide, and 4.5 inches deep. It also includes two detachable controllers and a game card that can actually be taken in and out of the console slot, adding a nice interactive touch to the display piece.

Patrik, a designer at the LEGO Group, shared his personal connection to the project: “Like many others from my generation, I still vividly remember when the SEGA Mega Drive launched. It felt completely out of this world. 27 years later the love for the console is still going strong. I still play mine! Recreating the intricate details and curves of the console with LEGO elements was an enjoyable challenge, despite its difficulty.”
Alex Gomez, VP of Licensing and Partnerships at SEGA of America, also weighed in: “The SEGA Genesis holds a special place in the hearts of gamers and represents a defining era in video game history. With this new LEGO set, fans are not only able to relive those nostalgic memories, but also actively engage with SEGA’s legacy through hands-on creativity.”

This is not the first time LEGO and SEGA have worked together. Previous collaborations include the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog product range and the LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone set. The SEGA Genesis Console set continues that ongoing partnership between the two brands. The set launches on June 1, 2026. It will be priced at $39.99 in the US, £34.99 in the UK, and €39.99 in Europe. The set will be available at the official LEGO website and at LEGO Store locations.
