Developers qureate has just announced the release of their upcoming rhythm game titled Massage Freaks which will be out on August 14 for the Nintendo Switch.

In massage freaks, your goal is to help relieve these lovely ladies from both physical fatigue and as well listen in to their troubles with life. Players can also give these ladies a “Secret Massage”, as quoted from the game page, that helps with relaxation of both body and mind.

Welcome to the parlour

The story of Massage Freak are as follows:

While cleaning up your grandfather’s massage parlor, the stumbles upon Momiji, a talking cat. Confused by the abnormality, the players asks for Momiji’s true identity. But the player is then interrupted by a debt collector who abruptly shows up to collect his grandfather’s debt.

When the player tries to manage the situation under the absurd conditions presented to him, Momiji seems to share with the player some strange new power..?

The due date to clear your grandfather’s debt is in a month, along with a new life that begins with a series of mishaps.  Now is not the time to be thinking about what this power is or why the cat is talking!

The players are to give massages to customers who are all different from each other, and aim to pay off your grandfather’s debt.

Massage to the beat

In Massage Freaks, your job is to cater to the different troubled girls that visit the parlor. Players can give these girls secret massages to make them feel better while you gain a good impression from your favourite customers.

Massages and Romance goes hand in hand (quite literally), as you try and help solve the issues that are bothering the girls. And maybe even get a happy ever after with one of them!

Secret techniques passed down from generations

The mysterious powers that were given by Momiji are actually secret massaging techniques that are passed down from generations, how convenient!

The special massages in which “the music that the person is being treated by” is transmitted through your special gloves, as the sounds waves can heal the body both inside and out.

To the tune of the music, press the buttons that appear in time in order to heal the girls from their troubles. There are a total of 50 songs to enjoy in Massage Freaks.

Wait, this isn’t just about massaging, is it?

As the music progresses in a revealing manner, so does the clothes the girls are wearing. The girl’s breathing becomes more and more labored as they remembered that they left the stove on back at home.

You have to concentrate on the massage and not get distracted by such haunting sights!

Introducing the Newly Trained Relaxation-Massages or NTR for short!

If players manages to do a really good job at their massages and get up to a certain score, the client enters the “NTR” mode, which is a heavenly state in which the massage feels good no matter where the massage is given.

Once you enter this mode, you should massage the whole body as much as you can. Before you get too excited, there’s no actual NTR in the game, it’s just a word play on the term in game “なんだか とっても りらっくす もぉど” which loosely translates to: somehow very relaxing)

Go out and touch or massage some grass!

Not only do you get to meet your favourite customers in the parlour, but you can go a date with them!

You can catch a glimpse of a side of them that they don’t show in the store, hear about their problems, or see a variety of other events that cause the “wholesome boys to get all upset”.
