The anime adaptation of Genshin Impact is moving forward without problems, according to the game’s developer. MiHoYo, the company behind the popular open-world game, first announced the anime project in September 2022. They partnered with Ufotable, a well-known Japanese animation studio, and released a three-minute concept trailer. Since then, news about the project has been limited, and no release date has been set.
Recently, some fans worried that the anime might be facing delays. This concern came after Ufotable said in July last year that it needed to move staff from other projects to focus on Demon Slayer films, specifically the Infinity Castle arc. People began wondering if this might affect the Genshin Impact anime.
During Genshin FES 2026, an event held in Shanghai, China, developer Aquaria addressed these concerns. According to clips from the livestream shared on Bilibili and translated by Japanese fans, the anime is progressing steadily. Aquaria confirmed that the project has not run into any issues or unexpected delays.

The developer explained that MiHoYo is treating the anime as a long-term project, similar to how they handle the game’s content. When the anime was first announced, it was described as a “long-term project,” which suggested from the start that production would take time. Aquaria asked fans to remain patient and not to worry about the anime’s development.
