SEGA and Sports Interactive have officially announced that Football Manager 26 will launch globally on November 5, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android. Nintendo Switch players will be able to join in a month later, with Football Manager 26 Touch scheduled to release digitally on December 4. This marks the beginning of a redefined era for the iconic series as it makes the leap to a brand-new engine.
Powered by Unity for the First Time

For the first time in the franchise’s history, Football Manager 26 is powered by the Unity engine, refreshing the managerial experience with upgraded visuals and performance. The move brings a modern look and feel to the game while maintaining the depth and detail that fans have come to expect. Sports Interactive describes this edition as “legacy, redefined,” setting the stage for players to carve out their footballing destiny.
A Reimagined User Interface
One of the headline features is a reimagined user interface, designed to give players more control over the decisive moments of every career. This overhaul improves navigation and presentation, making tactical adjustments, transfer negotiations, and match preparations feel more intuitive and impactful. It complements the most immersive matchday experience yet, complete with new volumetric animations inspired by real-life games and upgraded pitch visuals that add drama and authenticity to every fixture.
The Premier League and Women’s Football Arrive

Football Manager 26 takes authenticity to new heights with the official arrival of the Premier League, featuring licensed club logos, kits, and player photos. Another milestone for the series is the long-awaited debut of Women’s Football, which is fully integrated into the Football Manager ecosystem. Backed by a comprehensive database and upcoming licensed competitions, Women’s Football will stand alongside the men’s game as part of one unified world.
Seamless Save Compatibility

Despite shifting to a new engine, Football Manager 26 retains a feature that fans have consistently valued: save game compatibility. Players can carry over their careers from Football Manager 2023 and Football Manager 2024 into Football Manager 26 across PC, Console, and Touch editions. For the first time, Football Manager Mobile will also support save compatibility, though limited to careers from Football Manager 24 Mobile. This ensures long-term managers can continue their journeys without interruption.
Pre-Purchase and Early Access

From September 10 until launch, players who pre-purchase Football Manager 26 for PC and Mac via SEGA-approved digital retailers will receive a 10 percent discount. Additionally, pre-orders on these platforms grant access to the Advanced Access period, which will go live roughly two weeks before the official release date. Careers started during this early phase will carry over seamlessly into the full game. Pre-orders for the console versions will open at a later date, with details still to come.
Looking Ahead
Football Manager 26 is positioning itself as the most ambitious entry in the series to date. With its Unity-powered overhaul, redesigned interface, and the addition of both the Premier League and Women’s Football, it represents a major step forward in football simulation. More announcements covering transfers, tactics, manager creation, and controller integration are expected in the weeks leading up to launch.
For now, fans can mark their calendars: November 5, 2025, is when Football Manager 26 officially arrives, ready to change the way you manage your team.
