BANDAI NAMCO’s 3DS Appmon battle game project Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters had just released its first trailer!
Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters is a Digimon cross-platform project by Toei Animation, Bandai, and Bandai Namco Entertainment. It will include toys, Digital cards for children, games, magazines, and others.
The story surrounds “application monsters” (Appmon for short) that come into being through the use of applications on smartphones. Each Appmon is different and shares characteristics according to what application they emerge from.
The trailer give us a closer look at the different types of Appmon, such as “Game-type”, “Social-type”, “Entertainment-type”, “Sytstem-type”, “Navigation-type”, “Tool-type”, and “Life-type”.
There’s also a feature to fuse two Appmons together to create a more powerful one that shares characteristics from those they were fused from. Players can fuse these Appmons to strengthen their party and take out enemies. Some Appmon have unique abilities, such as “deal 50% more damage to Social-type enemies”.
The game is compatible with the QR codes on Appmon Chips and can be scanned through the 3DS. The game is expected to release in Japan this fall.
