Blue Archive JP is set to introduce a major change to its gacha system with the implementation of a new “Archive Recruitment” banner, similar to the Standard Banner systems seen in games like Arknights. The feature is scheduled to go live after maintenance on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

What is Archive Recruitment?

The Archive Recruitment system allows players to select their desired characters—or “students”—from a special pool. Once added to this lineup, these students will no longer appear in other banners such as limited-time or regular recruitments, effectively making Archive Recruitment the new hub for previously featured units.

This feature serves as a permanent banner alternative, enabling players to catch up on missed characters without waiting for limited reruns.

Recruitment Method and Archive Tickets

Recruitment under this new system will only be possible using either Pyroxene or Archive Recruitment Tickets.

Each recruitment attempt in the Archive Banner grants 1 Archive Point.

• 200 Archive Points = Exchangeable for any one student in the banner lineup.
• These points do not expire, unlike standard banner points.
• If a player pulls a duplicate of their selected character, they will receive 100 Divine Name Characters (useful for character upgrades).
• However, this Divine Name bonus is only granted on duplicates, not on the first pull.

Note: Regular recruitment tickets cannot be used. Archive Tickets can be obtained through in-game activities such as Guide Missions and the Battle Pass.

How It Compares to Other Systems

This change closely mirrors the Standard Banner model used in Arknights, where old characters are cycled into a dedicated banner. It helps reduce gacha fatigue while offering long-term players more value and flexibility.

This makes the Archive Recruitment ideal for players who:

• Missed out on previous Pick-Up banners
• Want to focus on specific characters
• Prefer a long-term grind over limited-time luck

The Archive Recruitment system will be available after the July 22, 2025, update following server maintenance.
