CD Projekt RED has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC, with the PC version available on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Battle.net. The remaster was revealed during gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live and is set to launch on September 29.
Players who already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5, Xbox Series, or PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG will get a free upgrade to the Remastered edition. This upgraded version will also include both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The Remastered edition brings a wide range of upgrades to the game, including improved visuals and performance, enhanced combat, better traversal and movement, new effects for witcher signs, reworked mount handling, upgraded monster behaviors, a revamped skill tree, transmogrification, an expanded photo mode, and new finishers, among other changes.
Alongside the remaster announcement, CD Projekt RED and Fool’s Theory shared a teaser trailer for a new expansion called Songs of the Past, which is planned for release in 2027. The teaser introduced a new region called Letten, described as a peaceful land known for its rural traditions, folklore, plentiful harvests, and festivals. Beneath this peaceful surface lies a hidden darkness, and Geralt will need to face new enemies as he works to deal with an evil that has been dormant for a long time.
During gamescom, CD Projekt RED is holding guided presentations of “Songs of the Past” and the Remastered upgrade at Hall 8.1 in the event’s entertainment area. People not attending in person can watch special REDstreams broadcasts on YouTube and Twitch throughout the event, with each stream focusing on different parts of the expansion and the remaster.
With the remaster launching in just over a month and a new expansion already on the way, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to expand its presence across platforms more than a decade after its original release.
