Dying Light: The Beast will not release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a decision developer Techland made after what the studio described as careful consideration during development.
According to the official statement, Dying Light: The Beast was built from the ground up for current-generation hardware. Its open world, detailed visuals, and combat and movement systems all depend on processing power and memory that older consoles cannot provide. The developer said that as work on the game progressed, it became clear that bringing it to PS4 and Xbox One would mean cutting features and scaling back quality in ways that would keep the game from turning out as intended.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision that Dying Light: The Beast will no longer be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The studio clarified that this was not a decision to abandon those platforms by choice, but a result of technical limitations tied to the hardware itself. The team said its priority was ensuring the game meets the standard they set out to achieve, even if that meant limiting which consoles it could run on. The developer acknowledged that many players had been looking forward to playing the game on PS4 or Xbox One and apologized for the disappointment this decision may cause. Players who had planned to purchase or play the game on either platform will be eligible for a refund.
