NetEase Games released a new trailer for Sea of Remnants, giving players a closer look at the free-to-play ocean-fantasy RPG being developed by Joker Studio. The trailer, titled Make It Loud, is set to a music track of the same name and focuses on the game’s fleet groups and factions.
Sea of Remnants puts players in the role of a puppetfolk sailor who has lost all their memories. The game sends them out to sea to recover people, memories, and truths that have been swallowed by the ocean. The story is set around Orbtopia, a pirate city where the residents live on the edge of forgetting, and every soul brought back to it changes the world in some way. At its core, the game is built around a “Set Sail, Explore, Extract, Return” loop with roguelike elements mixed in. Each voyage lets players rearrange their crew’s classes and builds, with choices made along the way affecting how things play out. The cycle is designed to keep each run feeling different from the last.

The trailer also gave a breakdown of six fleets players will encounter in the game. The Dawnbreaker is described as a group of elites and misfits rallying under the Empress. The Black Baron leans into elegance and strict codes while chasing the riches of the sea. Ranbo is positioned as Orbtopia’s loudest and most chaotic crew. The Wanderer fleet drifts wherever it pleases and causes trouble along the way. The Illusion Troupe is a joyful group at sea that serves as a home for those called the Shoreless. Finally, the Drift Bottle fleet operates on an open-door policy, never asking where its passengers come from.

Players can form bonds with over 400 companions across the game, customize their fleet, battle monsters, and make choices that shape Orbtopia over time. Sea of Remnants is headed to PlayStation 5 and PC, and is free to play.
