Publisher WFS and Studio Prisma, a development subsidiary led by RPG veteran Masato Kato, have officially announced Another Eden Begins. The time-traveling role-playing game is scheduled to launch this summer for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The announcement confirms a major new chapter for the Another Eden universe, bringing its signature narrative-driven design to modern platforms.
Masato Kato, widely recognized for shaping some of the most influential role-playing games in the genre, leads the project. His involvement places strong emphasis on story, character development, and classic RPG structure, all of which form the foundation of this new adventure.
A Narrative That Crosses Time and Space

Another Eden Begins centers on a story that unfolds across multiple eras. Players follow Aldo, a young swordsman living peacefully with his younger sister, Feinne, in the village of Baruoki. That quiet life ends abruptly when the Beast King kidnaps Feinne. Aldo gives chase, only to find himself pulled through a rupture in spacetime after a fierce battle. He awakens 800 years in the future, where the consequences of past and present decisions collide.
The main story features full voice acting and a cinematic presentation. Yasunori Mitsuda composed the game’s main theme, while Procyon Studios provides a soundtrack that blends orchestral arrangements with traditional folk instruments. Together, they reinforce the emotional weight of a story shaped by time, loss, and choice.
Strategic Command-Based Combat

Combat in Another Eden Begins relies on a strategic command battle system. Players assemble parties that balance offensive power, support abilities, and healing roles. Each decision during combat carries weight, as effective coordination allows players to control the pace of battle.
Attacks gradually fill the Another Force gauge. When activated, Another Force temporarily prevents enemies from acting while players unleash a coordinated assault. This mechanic rewards thoughtful planning and synergy rather than raw aggression.
Companions and Character Bonds

Throughout his journey, Aldo encounters 18 companions, each with a unique background and skill set. Players can learn more about these characters through encounter quests, character quests, and kinship quests. Building strong bonds unlocks deeper story content and strengthens the sense of connection between party members.
New Game+ and Multiple Endings

After completing the main story, Another Eden Begins unlocks a New Game+ mode. Players begin a new journey with their characters retaining their progression and abilities. Choices made during this second playthrough determine which of more than 10 possible endings unfolds, encouraging exploration and replayability.
With its summer release window, Another Eden Begins positions itself as a substantial RPG experience for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. By combining time-travel storytelling, strategic combat, and multiple narrative outcomes, the game aims to deliver a rich adventure that respects classic RPG traditions while embracing modern design.
