Interactive superhero show Dispatch, developed by AdHoc Studio in collaboration with Critical Role, proved both a critical and commercial success in 2025. The Telltale-style adventure game earned an 89% rating in PC Gamer’s review, and it has now sold over 3 million copies worldwide.
Record-Breaking Player Stats

AdHoc Studio shared the impressive figures in an animated infographic on Bluesky. Players answered 727 million calls and dispatched over 1 billion heroes. Collectively, viewers watched around 23 million hours of gameplay on platforms like YouTube and Twitch.
While the numbers reflect widespread engagement, the statistics also reveal quirky gameplay habits. Only about five percent of players—roughly 164,000—completed the game without romancing any characters. Nearly two million players romanced Invisigal, while another one million pursued Blazer. The popularity of in-game romance highlights how narrative choices continue to attract players in story-driven games.
Behind the Scenes

Interestingly, Dispatch almost featured even more adult content. Some sex scenes were removed during development, though the team focused on maintaining humor and storytelling. Despite these cuts, the game retained the Telltale-inspired style fans love, offering choices, branching narratives, and memorable character interactions.
The game’s protagonist, Robert, navigates a world full of superheroes, while side characters like Blonde Blazer bring humor and charm to the story. Players also enjoy the minigames, such as the dispatching mechanic, which could easily stand alone as a fun experience.
Sequel Likely

Given the success of Dispatch Season 1, a sequel is now more plausible. AdHoc Studio has indicated that they are considering a second season, suggesting that fans may see new stories and characters in the future.
For players who have yet to try Dispatch, the game represents a revival of Telltale-style adventures. With its humor, narrative depth, and replayability, it has captured the attention of millions. The commercial success of over 3 million copies sold makes it one of the standout story-driven games of 2025.
As 2026 begins, the focus will likely shift to supporting the community, exploring potential sequels, and continuing to celebrate the interactive storytelling that made Dispatch such a hit.
