Kadokawa Corporation has announced a new game based on the anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero. It will release worldwide for PC, iOS, and Android. While an official title and deeper details remain unconfirmed, the news has already sparked strong excitement among fans eager to return to Naofumi Iwatani’s journey.
Bringing the Anime to Life
Kadokawa stated that the project aims to capture the anime’s look and spirit. Series author Aneko Yusagi praised the visuals, saying the graphics made it feel as though the anime had been transformed into a game.

Yusagi also noted that players will be able to enjoy both the story and unique battles through their own hero. This approach hints that the title could expand beyond familiar arcs, offering original elements alongside known moments.
Creative Supervision and Character Design
Character designer Minami Seira voiced equal enthusiasm for the game. They called it a “long-awaited new work” and highlighted how gaming can deliver expressions and interactions that anime cannot.

Seira also confirmed their direct supervision of the development. Their involvement suggests the designs and atmosphere will remain faithful to the series while still providing a fresh layer of creativity for players worldwide.
Shield Hero’s Expanding Universe
The announcement arrived alongside more news for the franchise. Kadokawa confirmed that a fifth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime is already in production. With both a new game and anime season on the horizon, the series is growing stronger than ever.

Fans will soon have two new ways to dive into Naofumi’s world—through gameplay and on-screen storytelling. More details on the game are expected in the coming months. For more updates on the game, you can follow them on their official website.
