Netflix has officially confirmed the production of a live-action series adaptation of Solo Leveling, the globally acclaimed webtoon phenomenon. Rising South Korean actor Byeon Woo-seok will take on the lead role as Sung Jinwoo, the underdog hero turned supernatural powerhouse.

The project marks the streaming giant’s latest dive into Korean fantasy adaptations and is based on the record-breaking Solo Leveling series, which boasts over 14.3 billion views worldwide on KakaoPage. Originally a web novel by Chugong published in 2016, the story was later adapted into a webtoon illustrated by Dubu (Redice Studio) and written by h-goon, gaining massive popularity across Asia and beyond.
