Following its “ultimate test” earlier this November, Tower of Fantasy is set for a 16 December release date in China. This is a sci-fi open world RPG developed by Hotta Studio using Unreal Engine 4. You can easily compare it to Genshin Impact, or hell, even call it a clone.

As its release date looms, Tower of Fantasy has been under some scrutiny, with poor initial response and concerns on unaddressed bugs, “bad gacha elements”, and “identity crisis”. A global release is said to be in the works, but it does not appear to be a simultaneous release at this juncture. Publisher Perfect World is also has other projects in the wings, new versions of Perfect World Online notwithstanding.

Supposedly, this release is being rushed as their publication certificate is close to expiring and Perfect World is pushing to recoup some of their investment. The concerns and feedback from the “ultimate test” have apparently been addressed for release, but we will have to wait and see how far this is true.
