SpongeBob Travels Through Dimensions in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Spongebob seems to be taking a page from Doctor Strange as he dives into different worlds in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake.

A new trailer for the game was presented at The THQ Nordic Showcase presenting several new worlds for SpongeBob to explore.

The plot of the game is that SpongeBob and Patrick meet with a mysterious fortune teller named Cassandra who grants the two friends multiple wishes. The two unintentionally open portals to alternate wish worlds and while it starts off as simple fun and games, their friends are soon trapped in the chaos.

The game will see players take control of SpongeBob and Patrick through seven alternate worlds including a trip to prehistoric times, the wild west, imperial china, and many others.

The Cosmic Shake’s official website lists several notable features of the game:

• Unlock classic and new platforming skills like the Fishhook Swing and Karate Kick
• Don more than 30 sponge-tastic costumes like SnailBob and SpongeGar
• Travel to 7 distinct Wishworlds like Wild West Jellyfish Fields and Halloween Rock Bottom
• Experience all the buddy movie banter with SpongeBob’s permanent companion Balloon-Patrick
• Meet all your favorite characters from the series, voiced by their original actors
• Enjoy the in-game soundtrack featuring 101 songs from the series, including Sweet Victory

The game is being developed by Purple Lamp Studios who previously worked on SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, a well-received remaster of the original PS2 game.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. There is currently no launch date for the game.
