Nintendo has announced it will acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd., a game development company based in Singapore that has worked on several Nintendo titles. The Japanese gaming giant signed a share transfer agreement with Bandai Namco Studios Inc. to purchase the studio, which will be renamed Nintendo Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd. once the deal is complete.
Bandai Namco Studios Singapore has been creating art assets for games and has contributed to Nintendo projects including the Splatoon series. The studio was founded in March 2013 as part of Bandai Namco Group’s international operations and is led by CEO Makoto Ishii. Nintendo plans to acquire 80% of the company’s shares on April 1, 2026, with the remaining shares to be purchased later after the studio’s operations stabilize under Nintendo ownership. The acquisition is subject to standard conditions for this type of business transaction.

According to Nintendo, the purchase is aimed at strengthening the company’s development capabilities. The studio will continue its game development work, focusing on creating in-game art assets. Nintendo stated that the acquisition will have a minor impact on the company’s financial results for the current fiscal year. The studio is located at Infinite Studios in Singapore and currently has a capital stock of SGD 1,000,000.
