TiMi Studio Group unveiled its first original Elder Dragon, Ruger Aidal, during gamescom 2026 for the upcoming Monster Hunter Outlanders mobile game. The newly revealed formidable foe was showcased in a dramatic trailer, giving players a taste of what threats await them in the upcoming mobile survival hunting action RPG.

Monster Hunter Outlander’s new dragon is depicted as an incredibly rare creature that lives among the stories passed down by the legends on Aesoland, the game’s new island setting. Ruger Aidal was seen with gigantic wings that shine with golden and iridescent light, which makes the creature appear like it’s floating mid-flight.

The reveal trailer for the elder dragon began with a band of adventurers witnessing a mysterious aurora, before Ruger Aidal appeared before them. It started observing the hunters calmly before surrounding itself in an intense sphere of light that unleashed devastating heat, scorching everything around it.

Ruger Aidal is also revealed to have the ability to emit “Radiant” particles that can turn other monsters into radiant species, which have altered behaviours and attack patterns. Familiar foes like Rathalos, Rathian, Diablos, Kushala Daora, Anjanath, and Nergigante will also appear in the mobile RPG, with some receiving these frenzied Radiant forms.

The devs also announced that pre-registration for the game has officially opened for both iOS and Android users through their respective app stores. Those who pre-register can also help unlock launch rewards, which include 20 Standard Contracts and the SR Adventurer Raya.

gamescom attendees can also join the “Adventurer’s Feast” event. It will take place at Haxenhaus in Cologne from August 28–30, where fans of the game can enjoy local dishes and try a demo of Monster Hunter Outlanders. Walk-ins are available, but advanced reservations through the Luma link will be prioritized.
