Hong Kong’s top comic creators are coming back to Malaysia for the fourth consecutive year. They will bring their vibrant storytelling and artistry to Comic Fiesta 2025, the country’s largest comic exhibition to celebrate the best Hong Kong Comics. The event runs from December 20-21 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Fans can expect a unique and immersive experience at the Hong Kong Pavilion.
Featured Artists and Debuts

This year, 16 Hong Kong comic creators from the 4th Hong Kong Comics Support Programme (HKCSP) will showcase their works. Organized by the Hong Kong Comics & Animation Federation (HKCAF) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the program aims to promote Hong Kong comics internationally.

Artists such as Jerry Cho, Felix Ip, Tim Cheng, and Linus Liu will make their Malaysian debut after Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2025. Fans can watch live drawing sessions and learn about the creative processes behind each work. These interactions provide insight into the culture, artistry, and universal appeal of Hong Kong comics.
Award-Winning Comics on Display

Tim Cheng’s debut comic, The Celestial Bookhouse, has become a highlight of the HKCSP. It won both the Gold Award and Best Comic Story Award. Tim also received recognition at the 22nd CACC Top 10 Animation & Comic Award and the 2nd Lingnan Water Town International Cartoon & Animation Week. Other notable winners include Rex Koo, Felix Ip, Chan Chi Cheung, and One Fung, each showcasing diverse storytelling and artistic styles.
Diverse Stories for Every Fan

The 16 selected creators present comics across multiple genres. Historical adventures like Siu Mui Was So Sick, post-apocalyptic survival tales such as Apocalypse: The Last Cyclist, and whimsical stories like Trio show the versatility of Hong Kong comics. Each title offers entertainment and a glimpse into the creative spirit of the region.
Supporting the Global Growth of Hong Kong Comics

The HKCSP has supported Hong Kong comic creators since 2021 by providing financial and logistical aid to promote their works internationally. This year, 93 applicants competed for spots, with 16 artists selected to showcase their stories. The program highlights excellence in storytelling, artistic vision, and character design.
A Cultural Window for Malaysian Fans

For Comic Fiesta attendees, the Hong Kong Pavilion is more than just an exhibition. It is a chance to engage directly with creators, enjoy live demonstrations, and experience the innovation and creativity behind Hong Kong comics. The event also showcases the medium’s growing influence across Southeast Asia.
